Alyssa Peters

Alyssa grew up in the small town of Fairfield, ID. Once graduated from high school, Alyssa attended Boise State University. She graduated in 2014 with her BS in Psychology. She then continued on and received her MS in Marriage and Family Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University in 2017. While not working, Alyssa loves to travel, be with her family, spoil her nieces and nephew, and be in the outdoors as much as possible.

Alyssa's goal is to provide her clients with individualized and self-empowering therapy. She maintains that everyone is their own best expert. She believes that people have the strength and capacity to answer or understand concerns, hurt, or difficulties in their life, but sometimes they need someone to take the journey with them or to be their mirror. Alyssa honors the importance of the therapeutic relationship and strives to join clients where they are in their process.

Alyssa works with individuals, couples, and families. Her specialties include communication within relationships, resolving high conflict, infertility issues, miscarriages, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, stress management, premarital issues, infidelity, trust issues, and life transitions. She bases her counseling style on the client's needs. Alyssa has an emphasis in systems theory, gestalt therapy, and choice theory.

Alyssa's career has been dedicated to understanding the relationship individuals have with others and the impact those connections make on our daily life. Strengthening the relationship with ourselves, our loved ones, and those we want to love more can open up avenues of understanding, acceptance, and change.
